Roan was a pre-war and wartime era sovereign nation in Fallout: Equestria - Rising Dawn.
Roanians were once a proud and wealthy nation that aided Equestria during the Great War. They provided for them the money necessary to fund their massive war effort. Roanians were promiment in the city of Poneva, which was the center of foreign and domestic commerce in all of Equestria.
Roan was destroyed during the Great War when many of the smaller, sovereign nations that neighbored it waged a series of Resource Wars that eventually wiped them, and themselves, off the face of the planet.
Roanians, now a scattered people, can still be found in present day Equestria in the city of Poneva, where the majority of them are members of the reclusive Silver Horseshoe Society , which is the last bastion of Roanian culture in the entire planet.
Presently, not much is known about Roanian culture, only that they speak a language different than that of the Equestrians and that members of their society, from young to old, wear masks over their faces in public gatherings. Most of what is known of Roan has been lost to the centuries, although whatever is left to remember is cultivated by the Silver Horseshoe Society in Poneva city.
- Roanians speak French, as opposed to Equestrians, who speak English.
- Roan is a pun, a playing off of the French city of Rouen.
