Description Edit

Been reading the fic, so made a pic and than this. Only took half a Saturday (map and all). Ended up being a "see what cool effects you can make with lighting" kind of video.

Picture version:

The Fic:

--What programs did you use? Animating was done in Source FilmMaker (SFM). Editing was done in After Effects for lens flare and final compilation.

--Music/Audio?!?! Sigh is Alex from HalfLife2 Electric sounds are from HalfLife 2

--Who are the ponies? LilPip and Homage from Fallout: Equestria.

--What map is that? Map is custom-made in Hammer, but basically consists of just models found in various Source games and around the web. Hammer was mainly used for making a box and floor. :3

--How did you get the lighting effects? There are a total of 10 lights in the scene. 1 was used as a far off light to give the sun beams and general ground lighting. 1 was placed by the previous, but given a short range and heavy volumetrics (created a ball of light, effectively creating the sun), 1 was used for extra rim lighting on Pip, 1 was used that follows the sun and gives a higher bloom to the wall in front of it, 1 is in the building pointing towards the gun to give a slight ambient shadow, and the other 5 are placed around the rim of the opening for effect.

--How did you get the NukaCola sign to flicker? I created a texture of just the NukaCola sign and applied it to the light (Set Gobo Texture). Matched it up with the sign and flickered the intensity. Just using a light to do this will have a horrible effect (though there is a light used to give a little extra glow along with the textured light).

--Where did you get the models/cycles? LilPip: Homage: Little Macintosh: Fallout Props: PipBoy (PipBuck): Walk Cycle for Homage:

--Why didn't you use FallOut 50s music? Wouldn't have fit the mood and most were too long.

--Why is there sun? Didn't the pegasus close up the sky? Yes, but the sun is pretty. :P
